山东省潍坊市是世界风筝的发源地，其制作风筝有两千多年的历史。目前，世界上70%以上的风筝都是出自于此，国际风筝联合会的总部也设定在了潍坊。2006年5月，潍坊风筝被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。

More than 70% of the kites in the world are currently produced here, and the headquarters of the International Kite Federation is also located in this city.WeifangCity of Shandong Province, is the birthplace of kites in the world, and has a history of over 2,000 years of kite making.In May, 2006, Weifang kites were included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

潍坊风筝在漫长的历史中逐渐形成了造型优美、绘画艳丽、起飞灵活的传统风格与艺术特色，包含硬翅风筝、软翅风筝等多种类。威武的巨龙、彩翼的雄鹰、霸气的老虎、翩跹的蝴蝶……这些令人惊艳的彩绘有着吉祥的寓意，表达着人们对美好生活的向往、追求与憧憬。

In the long history, Weifang kites have gradually formed a traditional style and artistic characteristics including their elegant shapes, bright paintings, and excellent flexibility when taking off. Weifang kites also feature different types such as hard-winged kites ,soft-winged kites,etc.Majestic dragons, colorful eagles, imposing tigers, and graceful butterflies…These stunning paintings on the kites carry auspicious meanings, expressing people"s yearning for a beautiful life.

它们不仅被广泛用于放飞、比赛、娱乐，而且已经成为潍坊的骄傲和象征。每年4月举行的风筝节是潍坊以风筝拉动经济发展的一个重要活动，会有来自世界各地30多个国家和地区的代表团参赛。

They are not only widely used for flying, competitions, or entertainment, but alsohave become the pride and symbol of Weifang City.The International Kite Festival held in April every year is an important event for Weifang to promote economic development with kites. Delegations from more than 30 countries and regions around the world will be participating in this event.

将非遗做成产业，并不断赋予其生命活力，潍坊是认真的。目前，当地风筝产业从业者有几万人，产值也过20亿元。潍坊风筝注重与时俱进，在技术上，制作原料由以前的纸和塑料更换为现在的纤维材料，生产方式也由以前的手绘风筝样式转变为现在的3D打印、激光切割、数字设计等技术；在款式上，也创意无穷，万物皆可飞：游走的大章鱼碰面巨型大蜈蚣，超人大战猪八戒等，神话、浪漫元素应有尽有。去年，长8米的巨大空间站主题风筝更是火爆全国，是潍坊近20位风筝传承人结合现代技术进行制作的，还原了神舟飞船与天宫空间站对接和宇航员出舱太空行走的景象。

Weifang is serious in turning intangible cultural heritage into an industry and constantly giving it vitality.At present, there are tens of thousands of employees in the localkite industry, and the output value is over 2 billion yuan.Weifang kites focus on keeping pace with the times.In terms of technology, the production materials have changed from paper and plastic to fiber materials, and the production methods have evolved from hand-drawn kites to modern technologies including 3D printing, laser cutting, and digital design. In terms of style, the creativity is endless and the most magical thing is that everything can fly in the sky:wandering octopuses encountering giant centipedes, Superman battling Zhu Bajie – any mythical and romantic elements one can think of are all present.Last year, the 8-meter-long space station-themed kite became a hit across the country. Nearly 20 kite inheritors from Weifang incorporated modern technology to create it, restoring the docking of Shenzhou spacecraft and the Tiangong station, as well as the scene of astronauts spacewalking outside the cabin.

在传承与保护上，潍坊风筝传承人们不但建立起非物质文化遗产传承基地，还到外国进行非物质文化遗产方面的交流，参与展会或者受邀去孔子学院等机构进行技艺讲解，让潍坊风筝真正飞向了世界。

In terms of inheritance and protection, Weifang kite inheritors have not only established intangible cultural heritage bases but also engaged in exchanging ideas in communication with foreign countries. They participated in exhibitions and gave out skill demonstrations (invited by institutions such as Confucius Institutes), enabling Weifang kites to truly fly to the world.
